Idit Shafran Gittleman is the director of the Military and Society Program at the Israel Democracy Institute. Her areas of expertise are Moral Philosophy; political philosophy; ethics; law in war; and Military and Society. She served as a postdoctoral research fellow at the Minerva Centre for the Rule of Law under Extreme Conditions and as a postdoctoral fellow with the ERC-funded Global Trust Project at Tel Aviv University. Idit holds a BA and MA in Philosophy, a BA in Music, and a PhD in Law. She is currently an adjunct professor at IDC Herzliya.
