Ruth Behar

Ruth Behar is the Victor Haim Perera Collegiate Professor of Anthropology at the University of Michigan. Born in Havana, Cuba, she is known for her humanistic and literary approach to ethnographic writing, poetry, and fiction. Her work has been recognized by numerous honors, including MacArthur and Guggenheim fellowships and the Pura Belpré Author Award for Latina/Latino literature.

Marjorie Agosín is an award-winning Chilean Jewish poet, memoirist, novelist, literary critic, editor, educator, and human rights activist.
