Barbara Brenzel
Barbara Brenzel is professor of education at Wellesley College. She is the author of Daughters of the State: A Social Portrait of the First Reform School for Girls in North America, 1856–1905 and is writing a book on destitute children and the institutions that cared for them in the late nineteenth and twentieth centuries.
