Louise Downie

Louise Downie is a museum curator, specializing in art and interpretation. She has a degree in art history and an MA in Museum Studies. Before Claude Cahun had attained the academic acclaim that they have today, Downie was responsible for purchasing two Claude Cahun collections on behalf of Jersey Heritage, now representing the largest and most comprehensive holdings by this artist. From the early days of the mid-1990s when relatively little was known about this artist, she has facilitated researchers in developing knowledge and understanding, as well as curating and co-curating exhibitions.
