Racheli Edelman

Racheli Edelman holds a B.A. in English literature and economics and an M.A. in business administration from The Hebrew University of Jerusalem. She has been president of Schocken Publishing House in Tel Aviv since 1972. From 1982 to 1993 she served as chair of the Israeli Book Publishers’ Association, where she is currently a board member. From 1985 to 1997 she was a member of the board of the American-Israel Paper Mills and has also headed the Book and Printing Press Center at the Israel Export Institute.

Shoshana Persitz

Born in Russia to wealthy parents, Shoshana Persitz was a passionate Zionist and a leader in education reform. She operated a Hebrew-language publishing house in Russia before making Aliyah to Israel, where she continued in publishing and served three terms in the Knesset.
