Tanya Elder

Tanya Elder is a librarian, archivist, storyteller, and actor. She received her B.F.A. in theater from the Tisch School of the Arts at New York University and her M.I.S. in library science from Wayne State University. Currently, Elder is an M.A. student in history and archival management at NYU. She has worked as a librarian at the Free Library of Philadelphia and the Queens Borough Public Library and has also performed several one-woman shows in New York City. Elder has published an essay about being a new children’s librarian in In Our Own Voices: The Changing Faces of Librarianship.
