Sue Levi Elwell

Sue Levi Elwell, Ph.D., Director of the Pennsylvania Council of the Union for Reform Judaism, was ordained at Hebrew Union College. She edited The Open Door, the new CCAR Haggadah, and served as one of the editors of the acclaimed The Journey Continues: The Ma’yan Haggadah. Elwell also served as editor, with Rebecca Alpert and Shirley Idelson, of Lesbian Rabbis: The First Generation. The founding director of the Los Angeles Jewish Feminist Center, she served as the first rabbinic director of Ma’yan: The Jewish Women’s Project of the Manhattan JCC, and compiled The Jewish Women’s Studies Guide.
