Naomi Geschwind

Naomi Geschwind is the Executive Director of Philadelphia’s Center City Kehillah, a synagogue consortium that sponsors intercongregational and interdenominational programming. She is also a freelance journalist whose work has been published in Moment, The Forward, and Hadassah Magazine, and is regularly seen in the Philadelphia Inquirer and The Jewish Exponent, and on the Jewish Family & Life! webzine. A native of Boston, Geschwind has an M.A. in journalism from New York University and an A.B. in English from Vassar College.

In addition to being a well-known philanthropist, Julia Waldbaum owned a chain of grocery stores that she started with her husband. Over the course of her career, Waldbaum’s franchise expanded to as many as 140 locations in New York, Connecticut, and Massachusetts.
