Ruth Gursky

Ruth Gursky graduated from the Benjamin N. Cardozo School of Law and received B.A. and M.A. degrees in communications from Queens College. Gursky maintains law offices in Greenwich Village and Brooklyn Heights, specializing in wills and estates and real estate law. In addition, Gursky is a consultant to nonprofit organizations in the New York area, helping them to achieve their management and fundraising goals. Among her nonprofit achievements, Gursky conceived and organized the Hadassah Women’s Seder and wrote its innovative haggadah (prayer book). For more information, visit www.mslawyerny.com. Known as the “Mother of Women’s Basketball,” Senda Berenson pioneered women’s basketball as the director of the physical education department at Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts. Many of the rules she developed for women’s basketball became the standard ones used for seventy years.
