Werner Hanak

Werner Hanak, who trained in theater and communication, has been a curator at the Jewish Museum in Vienna since 1994. He also directs the museum’s library. He curated Eden—Zion—Utopia: The History of the Future in Judaism and Vienna: Jews and the City of Music, as well as other exhibitions. In 2000 he was dramaturg for Robert Wilson’s laser installation Z2—The bedroom of people who did not know each other. Since 1998 he has been teaching courses on Theater and the City and the Dramaturgy of Exhibitions at the Institute for Film, Theater and Media at the University of Vienna. In 2004 he was a Fulbright Visiting Fellow for Research and Lecturing at Bard Graduate Center in New York City.
