Mary Ellen Henry

Mary Ellen Henry is a Ph.D. candidate in United States history at American University. She received her B. A. in English from Colby College and her M. A. in Literature from the University of Hawaii. Her dissertation focuses on the role of the poorhouse in rural communities of the upper South from 1870 to 1930.
