Ruth Ann Hottell holds a Ph.D. in French studies from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She has published widely on French film, literature, cultural studies, and women’s studies. She retired as Chair and Professor of French at the University of Toledo in 2018 and was appointed Chevalier de l’Ordre des Palmes Académiques in 2019.
