Chris Jones

Chris Jones is curator/archivist of the Salomons Museum near Tunbridge Wells, in Kent, England. After working for nearly forty years in IT, he now concentrates on his first love: historical research. His main interest is the early nineteenth-century development of London and its suburbs. The Salomons family provides a most useful entrée into that world.

Vera Frances Salomons

An elusive figure, Vera Salomon, who belonged to the interconnected network of Anglo-Jewish families known as “the Cousinhood,” is best remembered for founding and funding the L.A. Mayer Museum of Islamic Art in Jerusalem. This was the culmination of a longstanding philanthropic commitment to Jewish life in what would become the State of Israel.
