Joseph Lowin has been director of the National Center for the Hebrew Language, director of Cultural Services at the National Foundation for Jewish Culture, director of the Midrasha Institute of Jewish Studies and director of Jewish Education at Hadassah. He has taught at Yale University, the University of Miami, Touro College, Yeshiva University and the State University of New York. Lowin is the author of a book of literary criticism on Cynthia Ozick and of HebrewSpeak and HebrewTalk, two books dealing with Hebrew roots and their derivations.
