Dianne Ashton is a Professor of History at Rowan University. She is the author of several books, including Hanukkah in America, Rebecca Gratz: Women and Judaism in Antebellum America, and Four Centuries of Jewish Women’s Spirituality (two volumes). Her upcoming book is, Crisis of Home: The Civil War Diary of Emma Mordecai. Her articles have appeared in many volumes.
