Jane Calem Rosen

Jane Calem Rosen, the director of marketing and communications for the Bergen County Y, a Jewish Community Center in Washington, New Jersey, has been working in the Jewish communal field for a decade. In 1993 she joined the Jewish Standard, an independent weekly newspaper covering Bergen and Hudson Counties in New Jersey, where she remains a contributing editor. From 1997 to 2003 Rosen was director of media relations for the Jewish Theological Seminary. She previously worked in the field of newspaper marketing, beginning her career in 1978 as a promotion writer for the Chicago Tribune and returning to her native New York in 1980 to become assistant director of public relations for the New York Daily News.

Rosen received her bachelor’s degree with a concentration in philosophy in 1976 from Vassar College and a master’s degree with honors from the Medill School of Journalism at Northwestern University in 1978. She also studied at The Graduate School of the Jewish Theological Seminary and in the ulpan offered through the Israel Program Office of UJA Federation of Northern New Jersey. She is a member of the Northern New Jersey chapter of the Association of Jewish Communal Professionals.
