Roberta Sands began her career as a clinical social worker before receiving her doctorate and becoming a social work educator. She is the author of three editions of Clinical Social Work Practice in Behavioral-Mental Health (1991, 2001, 2012), The Spiritual Transformation of Jews who Become Orthodox (2019), and numerous articles on family, culture, and religious change.
