Cecil G. Sheps (1913–2004) was a leader in the field of health administration and health services research. At various times, he directed the Beth Israel hospitals in Boston and New York and taught at Harvard Medical School, the University of Pittsburgh School of Public Health and the Mount Sinai School of Medicine in New York. The Center for Health Services Research at the University of North Carolina was named in his honor.
