Jennifer Stinson

Jennifer Stinson is working toward her Ph.D. in musicology and her M.A. in women’s studies at Brandeis University. Her interests include women in music and intersections of Jewish culture and music, especially in the Yiddish theater. Her research includes work on gender roles in Molly Picon’s film Yidl mit’n Fidl and on gender and eroticism in Italian opera.

Regina Resnik

Regina Resnik, world-famous opera singer and leading lady at New York’s Metropolitan Opera House, reinvented herself multiple times in her career, taking on unexpected new roles. She toured through the United States and internationally before her first performance at the Met in 1944 and becoming the Met’s leading soprano.  In the 1970s she successfully began directing operas.

Jeanne Behrend

Jeanne Behrend was a renowned pianist, music educator, and composer who was dedicated to creating music and popularizing North and South American music. Behrend won Columbia University’s Joseph Bearns Prize in 1936; debuted at Carnegie Hall in 1937, performing one of her own compositions; and founded the Philadelphia Festival of Western Hemisphere Music in 1959.
