Boston Workmen's Circle Demonstration at Trader Joe's, December 11, 2011

Members of the Boston Workmen's Circle, including 5th grade students at the Workmen's Circle Shule, hold a demonstration outside Trader Joe's in an effort to convince the popular grocery store chain to sign a "Fair Food Agreement" supporting humane labor standards and a higher wage for the people who harvest tomatoes. The action was part of a national campaign effort supporting the Coalition of Immokalee Workers (CIW). The demonstration was held in December of 2011 and on February 9, 2012. Trader Joe's signed the agreement as a result of this and similar actions by organizers and consumers across the country. To read more, visit the Workmen's Circle Blog.
