December 2, 1991, Dear Prof. Elion, Your immense contributions in medical researches to the benefit of mankind have compelled me to send you this card. I only came to know you through TDR news of June '91; since then you have been my inspiration. Born in 1958, I have been struggling to attain the peak of academics even though an orphan right from birth. I obtained a Diploma in Food Technology in 1982, a Bachelor's degree in Pharmacy in 1989, and just completed a Master's degree programme in Pharmacology this year.
