Photographer Joan Roth's passion lies in visually conveying the grandeur of ordinary Jewish women, celebrating the diverse face of female Jewry. Her Jewish Women: A World of Tradition and Change was the first book about Jewish women—including those in Ethiopia, India, and Yemen—by a Jewish woman photographer.
