Dr. Evelyn M. Cohen (Ph.D. Columbia University) is an art historian who specializes in illuminated Hebrew manuscripts and Italian Renaissance art. A former Samuel H. Kress Fellow and Coleman Fellow at the Metropolitan Museum of Art, and recipient of the National Jewish Book Award, she has served on the faculty of Columbia University, the University of Pennsylvania, and the Jewish Theological Seminary, where she was also the founding Curator of Jewish Art.
