Karen Kashian

Karen Kashian

Karen Kashian works as Staff Accountant at JWA. She's very passionate about social action and feminism; JWA’s feminist perspective is what first captured Karen’s interest in the organization, and she has enjoyed her part-time work here since 2005. She has worked in nonprofit accounting for over twenty-three years. In addition to the financial health of any nonprofit organization, it is the mission statement that makes her work exciting and worthwhile. Prior to her work with nonprofits, she spent ten years working at a CPA firm in Boston with the firm’s small business clients. This was a time when businesses were beginning to computerize their accounting functions, and she enjoyed implementing new systems and training the client’s bookkeeping and administrative staff. In her spare time, Karen is a singer in a local choir, a dancer, and an avid reader.
