About the Fellowship

The Pomegranate Writing Fellowship for Jewish Women of Color* is a year-long program that will provide support and structure for Jewish women and gender-expansive people of color who are ready to build momentum in their writing careers.

Fellows will be emerging and mid-career writers residing in North America who are passionate about writing and excited to pursue new creative and professional possibilities. With the support of mentors, professional development workshops, and a cohort of peers, each Fellow will develop the creative and practical skills they need to thrive as professional writers. Fellows will also receive a stipend, recognizing their commitment to the program.

Over the course of the Fellowship, each Fellow will create 3-4 pieces of original writing. The Fellowship Director and staff will provide guidance through 1:1 feedback, coaching, and editing support.

By the end of the Fellowship, Fellows will have created new work that speaks to their unique perspectives and will have shared that work with a broad audience through JWA and beyond. They will have had a foundational role in shaping a supportive and lasting writing community.

The Fellowship is directed by Marcella White Campbell. Learn more about her on JWA’s staff page.

This Fellowship is made possible with the generous support of the Jews of Color Initiative and the SRE Network.
