Whether you are planning a conference, a professional development day, or another learning opportunity, JWA education staff can provide a customized training for educators in your school or community. We offer a diverse menu of workshops on topics such as Gender and Judaism, Women and Mentoring, and Conducting a Community Oral History Project.

What goes into a JWA training or workshop?

Our education staff is committed to supporting and encouraging Jewish educators to teach gender-inclusive Jewish history. Trainings include modeled activities, opportunities for collaboration, and discussion that encourage participants to explore Jewish stories, practice using new tools, and immediately apply what they learn.

Here is what past participants have said about our workshops:

“The workshop will catalyze important change for my school's curricula. I was introduced to so many rich primary sources that I want to share with students. I am excited to think about ways to distill what I've learned into lesson plans that help students connect to the work for justice done by previous generations, and inspire them to think about the complex choices involved in doing that work today.”

“I had heard about the Jewish Women’s Archive for many years and seen their materials but was completely unaware of the depth and breadth of their materials and how creatively they were contextualized for the classroom.”

“At first I had to hold on to my seat, but it was energizing to have East Coast energy come in here. Every year it seems like there is so much more about the Jewish world and Jewish education. JWA is right on and dead center.”
